Do I need to select printer in the ITO managed User Computing Centres?

No, there is no need for you to worry about the printer selection. While you make a log-in connection in the ITO managed User Computing Centres, the appropriate print queue has been set up for you. There is no need to make any changes unless you want to make use of printers in other computer rooms.

If I have submitted a print job in the ITO managed User Computing Centre, where can I obtain the output?

After you have submitted for printing, a print job will be established in the appropriate print queue. A printer will be later assigned for printing. After the job getting printed, the operators/student helpers will distribute the output to the distribution bin according to the last digit of the student number. For instance, student with student number 05888666 should go to bin 6 to collect his/her output. Output for staff members will be put in a special bin named 'staff'.

When can I collect the output after printing?

The time required depends largely on how many print jobs queuing in the print queues. At the non-peak seasons, the print jobs normally get printed in several minutes. However, at the peak seasons (such as mid December and March/April) when large print jobs are submitted from many users, the print job waiting time would be more than 15 minutes.
The printed output will be distributed at 15 minutes interval at the minutes of 10, 25, 40 and 55 of each hour. However, in some User Computing Centres, such as OEE-702 and RL7-001, where there are on-duty reception/operators, distributions will be more frequent. Nevertheless, we would like users to be considerate about the workload of the on-duty staff at that time while requesting for extra distributions.

You need to obtain a "Purchase of Print Quota" application form and a bank pay-in slip from the ITO Help Desk.
