Yes. In Cvent, each invitation list is configured with its own set of emails. This means the emails your invitee receives – such as invitations, reminders, confirmations – will depend on which list they belong to.
Note: If you are working with multiple invitation lists, ensure that each list has its own customized email set.
No. In Cvent, each contact can only belong to one invitation list per event.
Note: If you import the same contact into multiple invitation lists in Cvent. The contact will be removed from the previous list and reassigned to the new one.
Cvent will not always stop the entire import if there is an error it will skip the problematic rows.
1. Identify the Errors
Navigate to: Contacts > Reporting > Import Summary.
Download the Error Log: Look for the link to download the failed rows.
Check the "Error Column": Open this file; the last column will contain the specific reason for the failure (e.g., "Invalid Email Format" or "Required Field Missing").
2. Clean Your Data (The "Clean Slate" Method)
Hidden formatting (bolding, special fonts, or HTML snippets) can garble column headers and cause the system to misread your data.
Select All: Open your file and press Ctrl + A.
Clear Formats: On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Clear, then select Clear Formats.
Remove Hidden Spaces: Check your fields for "ghost" spaces at the beginning or end of cells (e.g., " edwin@hkbu.edu.hk"). These are the #1 cause of "Invalid Email" errors.
3. Final Pre-Upload Check
Before you try the upload again, ensure the following:
Header Integrity: Ensure Row 1 contains clear titles and no special characters.
Email Validity: Every row must have exactly one email address containing an @ symbol and a domain (e.g., .com or .edu.hk).
File Format: Save your final version as CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) to ensure all characters are preserved correctly.
Go to "Your name" located on the left bottom. Then Click My Profile > My Import. Look into the 'Details' of a particular import. This will tell if all records in the import have been imported successfully, and if there are some that were not imported, this page would also share the reason as to why they failed to import and option to export the error message if needed.
