Starting June 2022, a full version of Office 365 is available online for access by Students and Staff with their SSOid. Moreover, the desktop versions of Office applications can also be downloaded for installation across their personal devices. Windows and Mac are supported.

No, Office 365 is licensed to HKBU Staff and Students solely for his/her own use. Any forms of license transfer, even to other HKBU affiliated members, are prohibited.

The latest version of Microsoft Office ProPlus is included. Specifically,
For PC: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Publisher and Skype for Business (Skype for Business is for staff only).
For Mac: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook.
License will expire when a staff/student has left the University. All Office 365 installations should be removed. In addition, please make a copy of all files stored in OneDrive (if applicable) before your departure.
You may install Office 365 to up to 5 PCs/Macs. Sign-ins in mobile apps won’t count towards the total number of installations.
Remark: To view/edit Microsoft Office documents on mobile devices, you may install Office Apps from Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for iPhone / iPad) for free and sign-in using your HKBU email address.
Yes. To do so, visit https://portal.office.com/account/ (sign-in required). You can view detailed information and manage your installs by clicking ‘My installs’ on left sidebar.

For Windows: After sign-in to Office 365, click ‘Install Office’ > ‘Other install options’ to select the preferred language.
For Mac: This is done by changing your primary language in System Preferences. Specifically,
a) Go to System Preferences > Language & Region.
b) Drag the Chinese, Traditional (or Chinese, Simplified) to the top as the primary language.
c) Click Restart Now when prompted.
d) The language of Office applications should be changed to the preferred language when you launch the applications next time.
No. And to avoid potential complications during installation, it is highly recommended to first remove all existing Office installations (include trial versions of Office 365) before installing Office 365.
Please do ensure the system time is correct and time zone is being set to Hong Kong before proceeding with the activation.
Skype for Business is available for Staff only. In addition, you may need to enter SSOid@link.hkbu.edu.hk as your username instead of SSOid@hkbu.edu.hk during sign-in.
Only free app (not free trial) from the store are supported.
Note:
a) Office 365 for HKBU account does not allow paid app purchasing. Staff and Students will be redirected to use personal Microsoft accounts to continue payment.
b) The right for using downloaded apps will be disabled if you are no longer working for / studying in HKBU.
