Protect Your Website against Hacking CCL CCL

(CCL Reference Code: CCL16170710)

In HKBU campus, many applications are built in web and mobile environment. eLearning platforms are deployed on Moodle and Blackboard, many books and journals were published and accessed via the e-Library system rather than physical copies in the library. Moreover, accesses to university Gmail account and information/systems restricted to staff and students are also controlled by the web-based sign-on application. All these web applications, no matter on cloud-based or in-house developed, are subject to malicious attacks from the Internet.

The increasing use of web and mobile interfaces and relevant technologies, such as web services and mobile apps, has increased the attack vectors to these applications. And all these were revealed by the trends of security incidents occurred in recent years.

The seminar will describe the OWASP top 10 attack methods commonly used by hackers in recent years, and explain how we can protect our websites with secure development framework and hardening checklists applicable within the University campus.
