Adobe Express and Firefly
Overview
Adobe Express and Firefly are innovative tools in the Adobe suite which empower users to create professional-quality content, foster creativity through collaborative design and leverage generative AI capabilities. Staff and students can utilize these tools for a variety of projects and initiatives.
Adobe Express
It can be accessed either through web browser or mobile application for creating and sharing of diverse content, ranging from social media graphics to short videos and web pages.
Its collaborative features enable real-time co-editing with different permission levels, streamlining teamwork and feedback processes.
With a rich selection of templates, fonts, and design assets, Adobe Express empowers users of all skill levels to produce professional-quality content with ease and efficiency.

Adobe Firefly
Users are empowered to generate images, edit photos, and apply effects using text prompts, seamlessly transforming ideas into visual reality.
By leveraging AI trained on Adobe Stock and openly licensed content, Firefly not only enhances creative workflows but also addresses concerns related to copyright in AI-generated art.

To login to Adobe Firefly, click the profile icon on the top right corner and verify if you are using 'Adobe Express and Firefly (HKBU)’. If it isn't, click 'Switch Profile' and select 'Adobe Express and Firefly (HKBU)' from the profile list. This will set 'Adobe Express and Firefly (HKBU)' as your active profile.
To login to Adobe Express, click the profile icon on the top right corner and select ‘Sign out’. Sign in again with your HKBU Email address and choose the profile 'Adobe Express and Firefly (HKBU)' to login.
All staff and students (except students from SCE and CIE) are eligible to use these services by logging in with their HKBU email address. No registration is required.
If you are new staff or students, access will be automatically activated two days after the creation of your SSOid account.
Adobe Express is accessible through web browser or Adobe Express Mobile App, whereas Firefly is accessible through web browser only.

Mobile App Requirements:
Each user has a storage limit of 100GB, and the storage cannot be increased or shared across users. Files cannot be saved when storage limit is exceeded.
Generative credits are utilized based on the computational cost of the generated output and the specific generative AI feature employed.
For example, generative credits are deducted in actions such as:
- Click ‘Generate’ in text to image
- Click ‘More’ in ‘Generative fill’

Each staff and student will receive 250 Adobe generative credits per month to generate, edit and enhance images. For more details, please refer to the link here.
If all credits are used-up, you can still generate artwork and graphics, but at a reduced speed.
To monitor your credit usage, log in to Adobe website and click on your profile icon at the top right corner. For more details, please refer to the link here.
Currently, topping up Firefly credits is not supported.

In Adobe Express, user data is encrypted during transit via HTTPS using TLS 1.2 and a minimum of AES 128-bit GCM encryption. Additionally, all data at rest is encrypted with AES 256-bit encryption.
Besides, the existing Firefly generative AI models were trained on a dataset of licensed content, including Adobe Stock, and public domain material. No training was conducted using personal content of Creative Cloud subscribers. Please refer to the link here for more details.

HKBU Adobe Express and Firefly subscription offers staff and students unlimited access to Adobe Stock images and advanced branding capabilities, which are unavailable in the free version. Please refer to the link here for more details.
In addition, each HKBU user receives 250 generative credits per month, compared to 25 credits for free version.
Transferring files between accounts is not supported. Nonetheless, you can collaborate effectively by sharing your files with other Adobe Express users through the "Invite collaborators" and "Copy files between accounts" features.
If you are leaving HKBU, please download the files for your own record before your account is terminated.
