Software Licensing Policy

Infringement of intellectual property rights such as the use of pirated software is strictly prohibited.

The software maintained by ITO have been covered by either site licenses (unlimited usage) or by sufficient licensing for use on campus or at home.  For systems and servers which are managed by individual Faculties/Schools/Departments/Offices, they should monitor closely to ensure that all installed software packages are properly licensed.

Furthermore, staff members are advised to verify and ensure that all personally owned software packages installed on their office computers are sufficiently covered by appropriate licenses.  Any software found to be unlicensed or unauthorized should be removed immediately.
